Counting Down

Well, this semester is almost done, and I could never be more excited! Even though next semester is going to be long and probably hard, I am just ready to have a break from everything. 15 Days till my birthday, and a week from Thursday is Christmas. I love how many things there are to look forward to in December. The only bad thing is when December is over, there's not a lot to look forward to in spring. And spring is not going to be for a while because winter is only starting. But at least I have Derby to look forward to. Bout on this Saturday, and once a month after that. Twice in Feb. actually! Still sharing a vehicle with Mike. Its getting to be old news.
Today is my best friends birthday. She is 21...15 days before me so I cant even go out with her. But she is going to come see me at Bucky's tonight because I am going to be selling shots for Derby. We need to raise money so we can keep having our Bouts at the La Crosse Center.
I just wanted to thank everyone who read my blog and I enjoyed reading all yours, for this is going to be my last entry. It was nice while it lasted eh? Good luck to all, and to all a good night!

Its about time!

Well, I don't know about you, but I really hate living where it can be 35 degrees and no snow, then 12 hours later it can be 2 degrees with a foot of snow! I just don't get it? What happened to the Global Warming crap? I thought it was suppose to get hotter out. We didn't even have a summer this year! Makes me not want to live here. Don't get me wrong, I love WI, I just HATE snow and cold weather! And still no check from the city and still sharing a car with Mike. That's another thing. My car hates snow and cold weather also! Enough talk about the weather for now.
I have been trying to get in to see a counselor about next semester, and they have been real busy with other students, so I haven't been able to get in. TC is way over populated and I don't know why they don't have a schedule system instead of walk ins. I just want to get a respectable job and make some money to support my family. I would also like Mike to get called back to work because he is the real bread winner. Things just arn't going like i would like them too. I know I am asking for to much, but that's just how I am. I like things to go well not shitty!

December

Sweet, so its finally December! Now its the count down till the new year. So excited. Anyway, we just had our Bout this last Saturday. We lost again, but we are sure getting better and better each time. We are also getting new recruits with everyone is pretty pumped about. Our next bout is December 18Th and the Center again and hopefully we can really kick it in high gear! Also for those who are keeping tract, we finally heard back from the city insurance and we are getting our $3500 back to get a new vehicle, which is awesome because it is really hard to use only one car when two people need to be places all the time. Plus gas is really expensive. Lets talk about the holidays again. I pretty close to be done Christmas shopping and now i really want to wrap presents. Also if anyone remember, my birthday is coming up in 30 days! YEY! I have a feeling this month will pass by really fast because there is going to be so much going on. I have 4 Christmases this month and like 2 in January. I could go with out snow though. I'm not a big fan. I'm a summer type, not ice and wetness. My little car has such a hard time running in the winter. Plus people are so careless when it comes to driving in the winter. Its all about having fun, not worrying about hitting other cars, or knocking signs down. Lets hope we don't get any snow this year, the seasons are changing so much anyway. I can only dream, right?

Over Burdened

Well boys and girls, things have not been going very well. Life just seems kind of jumbled right now. I cant catch up and school work, and when I do have down time, there is just always something else that needs to get done. Lets just say I am looking forward to Christmas break! A month off from school will be nice. Plus my birthday is coming up so I will be taking like a week off from work. Yes it will be nice! Back to my problems, one of my classes is really irritating me because she assigns 3 assignments that take and hour and a half each to do, and they are only worth 5 points each. I just feel like I am wasting my time because I am not really learning anything in that class anyway. I know basic computer skills why should I have to pay to take a class that just wastes my time and money? I don't understand the system, but if i want my degree I have to abide. Even though I wont actually start my course classes till fall of 2011. Isn't that a bunch of crap. What other classes am I suppose to take? I cant afford to take classes I don't need! And if I don't stay a full time student I will get my insurance dropped. I just feel over stressed and don't know what to do. Plus I just got $1100 bill from the hospital from my arm when I broke it, and I was under the impression it was going to be covered. Where am I suppose to get the money to pay for that when I cant even afford to put gas in my car? Why cant things just get easier? Ill never understand. Maybe someday things will lighten up.

What a Day!

Oh my this weather is making me so very happy! Being able to go outside and do whatever and not have to worry about freezing to death! Seeing the sun, feeling a nice breeze, except the bugs this is the perfect fall weather! Not a lot new in my life these days, just counting down the days till my birthday. 51 days today. I think I'm going to take a week off for my birthday. I'm probably going to need it to re coupe. Life at home is nothing out of the ordinary. Still sharing a car between me and Mike. The dog ran away again the other day and took me 2 hours of roaming the streets before we got a call from a guy who said he found him running up and down Cass St. Sometimes that dog really angers me, but Mike loves him so what can I do? Put up with it I guess. Halloween was a good time. Had a house full and the family even came over. Lots of drinks, food and unique costumes. We also had a judging for the costumes and my family won. It was so fun! Halloween is my favorite Holiday by far! Only another year till next Halloween. Next is deer season and turkey day. MMM -- food and football. cant wait. Also our next bout is coming up. Nov. 28Th and the La Crosse Center. Everyone should support us and come cheer us on! We need more fans, and more people to come and see us bout. Every person helps! Until next time, Ta Ta for now!

Inch by Inch Lifes a Sinch, Yard by Yard it's very Hard

Onward we must go. Trudging through another school year, coming up on yet another new year. Oh how time flies! Everyday is starting to feel the same. Wake up, study, go to school, do some home work, and then go to work. Everyday. BORING! At least I have Halloween to look forward to. And since we are hosting a kick ass costume party, it should be pretty fun, i hope. It better be anyway, because it took us 4 days to clean the house. Now that's a never ending story itself. Cleaning. There is always something to clean. You would think with the hubby being laid off he would make sure the house stays in order, but no. Does not happen. That's why he loves me so much. I'm a multitasker at everything. Not to toot my own horn, believe me i never do that, but I kept everything fairly straight around the house. It gives me something to do when I'm sick of school and watching TV. I have also been thinking about writing poems again. I used to when i went through them depressing teenage years in high school, but i stopped when i graduated high school. I guess i though i was better then that. Plus i suffered from depression and it seemed to ease the pain a little i guess. I miss writing down emotions and feelings. But enough about sad talk. Hope everyone has a wonderful Halloween and eats tons of candy! Bye Bye!!

Its the end of the world as we know it!!

No don't worry. Its not the end of the world yet. I just wanted to have an excited title so you would want to read my blog. Unfortionantly I don't have much to talk about this week. Weather is still crappy, and everyone around me is still sick. I cant believe all the school were letting people out because of swine flu. I wonder when people are going to realize that swine flu is not that big of a deal. Yes it sucks getting sick but all swine flu is, is the FLU! Everyone has had the Flu before. Just because it has a stupid name, doesn't mean you will die. Get over it! Any way, I have kept busy with tons of homework and work, plus in Derby we started committees and are changing things up a little bit differently because we are getting more people to join.
We also just found out that we wont be getting any money back for the accident till late November. Even though its not our fault and we didn't ask to get hit, we still have to suffer without an extra vehicle for two more months. Its going to be winter by then and my car handles very poorly in winter, when it actually starts up. Leave it to Mike and I to get F'd over. No matter what it is, where we are or who we're with, we always get the shitty end of it! Pardon my choice of words, that's just how angry I am at our system. I'm going to leave it at that because I really don't want to get into it to much other wise I will get even more upset, so I'm going to go to work tonight, come home, eat some egg rolls, and have myself a nice tall glass of Leinenkugel's Honey Weiss. PEACE!

Just another Week

Well boys and girls, I don't have anything special to write about this week. I'm still waiting to hear how much money Mike is getting back for the accident because sharing a car between two people kind of sucks. Speaking of sucks, this weather is really getting to my nerves! I hate winter. Fall is alright, but its already starting to freeze out. Snow, oh please don't get me started. Just when I was getting excited for Halloween, i see its snowing outside. And the way people are talking, this winter is going to be very nasty. Yes, that's just what are economy needs.
I've been thinking, and once Mike gets another job and I graduate and get my degree we're going to save up and move to FL because this is something we have talking about for a long time, and now we have come to realize, there is nothing stopping and no reason why we shouldn't. Granite its going to take a few years to save up and get life situated, but damn it, its going to happen!
In Derby news this week, we have been hitting practice hard because we are starting to learn new things about us as we bout. Giving all we can at practices and reading the Rule Book 4.0 we will come out on top one of these times. For being such a new team and new sport I think the Sirens are kicking ass. Although I cant help but feel over whelmed with Derby, work, and school all just getting crazier and crazier. Speaking of school, last week I forgot my flash drive at school in Written Comm. and someone snatched it. Thanks, because I had two essay's on there that are due this week. And I am NOT redoing them. So who ever has it, PLEASE return it! Thank you. That's all I got for now, so Ta Ta for now!

Rain, really?

Why is it when we need rain in the summer and only get like one week of it, and don't need it in the fall because it is already cold and miserable? I'm the type of person that could live in 90 degree weather year round, so winter is not really my thing. Mike and I still have not heard back from our accident, so we share my vehicle which I just put a good $500 in. I would rather ride my Schwinn to school but instead since the rain wont ever stop, Mike has to drop me off and pick me up from school. Wheres the fun in that? Other then being upset about the rain, we had lost our Bout against the Cedar Rapids Roller Girls once again. We did a lot better then last time but we also had a couple girls that had gotten hurt pretty bad. Our captain half way in broke her wrist and later found out that she had suffered 3 contusions to her brain. Doctors said she might have permanent brain damage but thinks she'll be fine. Kind of scary, i know. Needless to say she might be pulling out of Derby because if she gets another concussion she will have permanent brain damage. That's what happens in Derby though, i guess. At least we don't have another Bout for over a month. Now if we could just get this rain to stop, I would be able to enjoy myself. Ive been looking forward to decorating for Halloween, which is my favorite Holiday by the way. I do not put any decorations out unless its Halloween. So one of these days BEFORE Halloween I shall decorate!

Not a Good one

Well boys and girls, This week has not been very kind to me. I only made it to practice once this week because unfortionantly me and my fiance currently have no vehicle. I would love it for someone to ask, "whys that?" Well..My car broke down Saturday night on our way home from Victory, which is about 35 minuets from La Crosse, and we were lucking to make it home because my timing belt went out. So there is a couple hundred dollars I cant afford. Now you ask, what about Mikes truck? Its actually quite funny..(not really) but on Monday night on our way to Derby practice, we were not even a block from our house and a cop fails to yield at the intersection and hits us. Yes I said COP! SHE failed to yield, can you imagine!? Well it totaled both vehicles and I hit my head on the window so I had to go to the hospital the next day just to make sure I wasn't brain damaged or anything. We are hoping to hear from the attorney pretty soon to see what they are going to give us because they should at least give us blue book value for the explorer. Also, to top everything off, on the 25Th (Friday) Mike got laid off! He got laid off on our five year anniversary, oh and I ended up getting called into work, so we didn't even get quality time together. That was my awesome week/weekend! Everyone please buckle up and watch out for cops...They'll get ya!

Start of the Season

As our season starts everyone is getting ready to practice, get in shape and learn new things. Practice is twice a week at High Roller Skating Center two hours a night. As I am learning the rules and how to play Derby I found myself getting pretty good and comfortable on my skates. As our first bout was coming up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa I was getting nervous as well as everyone else. We had two weeks till our bout and practice was intense! Getting pretty good at blocking and running scrimmages every night i was super excited to get in and play...Until i fell and busted my elbow. Two weeks before our bout! Not to happy, and neither was anyone else. I had fractured the head of my Radius and wow did it hurt! Plus to top it all off, I did not have ANY insurance, so I couldn't wait to get that bill. Needless to say I still went to the bout and was bench couch. Watching wasn't not as fun and being in it, but I sure did learn a lot. Our team captain also had to sit out during that bout because she had broke her nose the night before and then got nailed in the face the first 20 minuets of the bout. Yes we did lose, but only by like 150 points. But on our part, they played dirtier then pigs in the rain. Either way it was a good experience.
First home bout for the Skating Sirens was at the La Crosse Center on Sept. 12th and man did we kick butt! Unfortinatnly we did lose again, but this time only by like 15 points. I was not able to play once again, but I sure was an awesome bench coach! Coming up on Oct. 3rd is our next bout and guess what boys and girls? I WILL be playing! But we are bouting against them dirty Cedar Rapids girls again so everyone needs to come cheer us on!

First time Derby

Roller Derby is something you had always heard about, but never thought you would see or even be in it. I guess when I heard the words "Roller Derby" I always thought about blood, tons of falling, broken bones, mean girls and to much testosterone. Come to find out, most of that is actually true! You do fall..ALOT and break bones and some of the ladies can play rather dirty.

I had gotten into Derby from a friend of a friend and still remember my first day of practice. I was a little nervous, not knowing what to expect. Not only that but I had never skated on speed skates. As a kid I always wore roller blades and never really got used to it. But as I practiced more and more with speed skates the easier it was to skate. The next thing I had to learn was coming into full contact with other skaters! One thing I can say about my first practice is that I was defiantly hooked! I loved the exercise, adrenalin rush and meeting new people. I now call my derby girls, my other family.

In joining Derby I have made a commitment to my team and myself. Working hard as a team and on my own, The La Crosse Skating Sirens will rock the house and win win win!!!
